At the end of May I represented the State of Kansas as the IKC (Immunize Kansas Coalition) Chairman at the National Meeting.
The meeting was fantastic and helped me and 2 other Ks attendees glean ideas and collaborate on how to increase adolescent immunization rates for Meningitis and HPV (Cervical Cancer and other Related Cancers) in Kansas. Very humbling to learn about the great efforts going on in other states. Our state has the lowest completion rates of HPV vaccine for girls (24.3%) and for boys (19.5%). We have our work cut out for IKC. The highlight was reviewing a brand new film released about 5 case studies of HPV victims.
Ironically, we left the day before the Indianapolis 500!
