October 19, 2016It was a very special Atchison County Historical Society Annual meeting Dr Eplee was able to attend Monday evening at the Atchison Santa Fe Depot. A new display by Walter Yost was unveiled at the museum there tonite highlighting Walter’s outstanding works as a young artist! Mr Yost was the Art professor emeritus at Highland Community College in his later years. He is highly revered by Atchison and Doniphan Co residents.
And I also got to see Harold Scheopner receive his recognition to the Roll of Honor as long serving president, and other honorees including Walter Yost. Then we heard a fantastic presentation by Don Lambert about John Stewart Curry and Kansas Art, and the influence he had on the Then young Walter Yost’s life.
